Who should be directly interviewing your reference customers?
When you assign any writer / editor to create a case study, be sure to ask the following:
1. Does the editor have the diplomacy and persistence to gain access to the right people at your prized reference customer, while leaving a great impression?
2. Does the editor have enough business background to immediately understand the customer's business challenges and ask only the right questions?
3. Has the editor ever written about your customer's industry?
4. Will the editor use your reference customer's time efficiently?
5. Does the editor have a keen perception of sensitive and political issues, and the ability to navigate around them?
6. Does the editor have a journalistic bent, to seek out valuable details that you may not be aware of yet?
